10 Days Exploring Southern Malawi

Option One


Day 1 - 3 

Client lands at Lilongwe International Airport - where we will pick you up and after a brief orientation, we would set off for Salima, Senga bay on Lake Malawi. To the boat pick up point for Blue Zebra island lodge on Nankhoma Island where you will spend your first three nights. The lodge offers beautiful luxury safari tents that are located centrally surrounded by the gorgeous island flora and fauna. Guests have access to all the lodge facilities....infinity pool, kayaks, volleyball, snorkelling gear or walks on the nature trails as part of the full board package.


Day 4 - 6

Get a boat transfer back to mainland - where we will pick you up and depart for Liwonde National park. You would be spending your next three nights at the Mvuu camp. Mvuu Camp over looks the Shire River. This river is full of Hippo's and Crocodiles, the bird life in Liwonde National park is some of the best in Malawi!!! The camp has a beautiful dining and lounge area nearby the river, allowing for beautiful riverside viewing. The Mvuu camp offers boat safari's along this incredible river and game drives during the morning and afternoon/ evening, giving you an opportunity to witness these animals in their environment. There is also an opportunity for nature walks but these have to be arranged at the camp.

Day 7 - 8

After breakfast you would be transferred to the Kayak Africa base camp in Cape Maclear. You would get a 45 min boat transfer to the pristine Mumbo Island where you will be spending the next two nights. The pristine Mumbo Island is located in the UNESCO world heritage site of Cape Maclear in Lake Malawi National Park. These waters are home to over 500 species of colourful Cichlid fish and considered one of the best places in the world to scuba dive and snorkel.


Day 9

After breakfast the you will return to mainland on the boat and be picked up from base camp and transferred to The Warm Heart Adventure Lodge, where you will be spending your last night in Malawi. The Warm Heart Adventure Lodge is a cute little Malawian owned lodge. Offering beautiful little reed chalets on the beach, with their own private balcony. Your morning tea & coffee tray will be delivered to your balcony so you can sip on a hot cup and have a little home made goodness to nibble on while you watch the pied kingfishers try to get breakfast, listen to the fish eagle calls and see the beach come alive. You will get a chance to explore the beautiful Cape Maclear.


Day 10

After breakfast you will be picked up and transferred back to Lilongwe International Airport for your flight back home.

Option 2

Day 1

You land at Lilongwe International Airport - where we will pick you up and after a brief orientation, we would drive you to Safara House, a little boutique lodge in Lilongwe, where you will be spending your first night in Malawi. Once you have freshened up we will take you to Lilongwe Wildlife Centre for a little exploring in the heart of Lilongwe and a afternoon snack. Safara house is one of the nicest boutique lodges you may come across. The lodge is surrounded by a tranquil lush garden with a great bird life. The lounge and dining area has a beautiful natural style décor and incredible food. The Lilongwe Wildlife Centre is run by the Lilongwe wildlife trust. It is known as one of the best wildlife sanctuaries in Africa and is home to around 200 rescued animals at any one time. It is in a nature reserve and was placed under LWT's protection by the government. In addition to protecting an important urban woodland, it stands as the country's leading environmental education facility. Welcoming 25,000 school children through their gates every year.

Day 2 - 4

After breakfast we pick you up from Safara and transfer you to Liwonde National park. Here you will spend the next three nights at Mvuu camp. Mvuu Camp over looks the Shire River. This river is full of Hippo's and Crocodiles, the bird life in Liwonde National park is some of the best in Malawi!!! The camp has a beautiful dining and lounge area nearby the river, allowing for beautiful riverside viewing. The Mvuu camp offers boat safari's along this incredible river and game drives during the morning and afternoon/evening, giving you an opportunity to witness these animals in their environment. There is also an opportunity for nature walks but these have to be arranged at the camp.


Day 5 - 6

After breakfast we will transfer you to Kingfisher Inn in Mangochi. Where you will be spending the next two nights. The Kingfisher Inn is tucked away in a nice little spot on the lake in Mangochi. With great sunset view, variety of different boat trips on offer, water skiing. The establishment is run be a warm and friendly couple. Their kitchen offers good food and have a lovely team, always checking in on guests to make sure they are enjoying their holiday.


Day 7 - 8

After breakfast we drive you down to the lovely Chembe village in Cape Maclear. You'll spend the next two nights at The Warm Heart Adventure Lodge. Cape Maclear is a unique little fishing village that has become a home to tourist lodges, bars & restaurants. Offering tourists an opportunity to explore the incredibly pristine waters around the islands, explore the fishing village and learn about Malawian culture and experience different styles of hospitality from the many people that have chosen to make this place their home!

Day 9

After breakfast we drive you to Kayak Africa base camp, where you will get on a 25 minuet boat ride to Domwe Island where you will spend your last night in Malawi. Domwe Island is the largest unpopulated island in Lake Malawi and is part of the Lake Malawi National park and UNESCO Heritage site. Dowme Island adventure camp is basic yet exclusive. The camp is run on a self-catered basis, with guests making use of the kitchen facilities to prepare their own meals or hiring a chef. The accommodation consists of three fully-furnished safari tents and two tent sites, complemented by a dining area with bar and water sport gazebo.


Day 10

After breakfast we will drive you back to Kayak Africa base camp and the then transferred back to Lilongwe International Airport for your flight back home.

Option 3

Day 1 - 3

Land at Lilongwe International Airport - where we will pick you up and after a brief orientation, we would set off for Monkey Bay Beach Lodge, on Lake Malawi, where you will spend your first three nights. The lodge offers comfortable accommodation on the lake with breath taking views. The words Malawi, the ''Warm Heart of Africa'' are echoed when you arrive at this beautiful colonial house on the shores of Lake Malawi. They have hosted great explorers and presidents alike. With breakfast being served on the front veranda so you can watch the fish eagles soaring across the bay. The rooms are simple and tastefully furnished with locally sourced fabrics and art.
They also offer luxury comforts such as cotton linen, guest amenities and comfortable beds.


Day 4 - 5

After breakfast we transfer you to Kayak Africa base camp in Cape Maclear. Where she will get on a wooden boat and be transferred for 45 mins to Mumbo Island. She will spend the next two days in this glorious paradise. The pristine Mumbo Island is located in the UNESCO world heritage site of Cape Maclear in Lake Malawi National Park. These waters are home to over 500 species of colorful Cichlid fish and considered one of the best places in the world to scuba dive and snorkel. Its is an absolute paradise!


Day 6 - 7

After breakfast we will take you back on the boat to the Kayak Africa base camp in Cape Maclear and then move to Kingfisher Inn on the Mangochi strip, where you will spend the next two nights. The Kingfisher Inn is tucked away in a nice little spot on the lake in Mangochi. With a great sunset view, a variety of different boat trips on offer, water skiing and kayaking. The establishment is run by a warm and friendly couple. Their kitchen offers good food and they have a lovely team, always checking in on guests to make sure they are enjoying their holiday.


Day 8 - 9

After breakfast the client will be transferred to Liwonde National Park, where she will be spending her last two nights at Mvuu camp. Mvuu Camp over looks the Shire River. Day 10

After breakfast we will pick you up and take you to  Lilongwe International Airport

for your flight back home.
